Shrek's Canvas
This piece of art, demonstrates the art style of pop art. Using one color scale value. The purpose of it was to create a character's drawing using only one color. But still being able to show all the shadows and demonstrate all of it's characteristics. I picked this character because I wanted it to look more realistic, by making Shrek, his face color was already green. Therefore by picking the green scale to paint it, will make it look exactly as it really is.
However, picking one color, and with a character like this, the shadows were difficult to make. Especially blending the colors for it to look natural. Another really difficult thing for me was to make the same color I used last time. Because we made this in class periods, the next class I couldn't made the same color. So I needed to paint over it all again. My last difficulty was to make the eyes, it was really hard. Because it has 3 different green colors and its really small so I struggle on that. In spite of this, I also had strengths doing this art piece. For example the eyebrows, and the bottom part, which are the clothes. In the case of the eyebrows I just used a dried paint brush to make the effect and make them look real. While for the clothes, I blend the green with blacsk to make it darker, and to make it difference it from the face. The only thing I will do next time, is be more careful when doing the colors and being able to use the same one later by saving it in some place when it doesn't dry.
