My Imagine Island

Picture
This work consisted on making a map of a place, using symbols that represented you and the things you like. This was based on using the idea of the artist Jan Van Eyck. Whose idea was allegory, which consisted on telling a story through symbols. In this case, the map represents me. It contains different symbols with land features that make up my island. Symbols which represent things such as family, art, beach, candies, movies, dreaming, cartoons, Ecuador, Jesus and music. Which all of them are things that I like and love. We use aquarelle to paint it, and because it spread apart so easily it was difficult to paint the small things without messing up everything else. However the good thing was that if you painted over it again, you were able to erase your mistake almost completely, depending on the situation. But drawing was easy, because we made a long process before in which we choose what we will include and what each thing will represent through different sketches.
